For oral dosage form (tablets): For the treatment of tuberculosis in Adults :500 to 750 mgs /day after food in 2 or 3 divided doses.In Children: Dose is based on body weight - 4 to 5 mg per kilogram of body weight every eight hours.

Ethionamide is contraindicated in hepatic disease and hypersensitivity.

Precautions

Precaution to be taken in Diabetes mellitus where hyperglycemia is difficult to control, and in patients with psychiatric ilness.

Interactions

When given with Cycloserine: the chance for adverse neurological effects, such as convulsions are increased.
