In India, the birth of a child is considered a blessing. Families used to be large. The joint family system provided for many elderly people under one roof and they helped in childbirth and raising children. The preference for nuclear families, the lack of support or guidance in raising children, the dilemma over whether to follow home remedies or allopathic treatment is causing a lot of concern to parents.
